Here in Lo Manthang, native mountain families have lived alongside one of nature's most remarkable creatures: the Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा, Capra hircus). To endure alpine winters that plunge far below sub-zero, it grows an extraordinarily soft undercoat known locally as Khu-lu — the pure origin of authentic Nepalese pashmina.
For generations these herding families stood as silent guardians of this high-altitude ecosystem, yet faced predatory middlemen, unpredictable seasonal returns and the threat of rural abandonment. Chyangra Pashmina Research And Agro Tourism Pvt. Ltd. (CPRAT) was founded not merely as a business, but as a movement — to restore dignity, scientific reverence and true economic ownership to the pastoral guardians of Mustang.
Our two pillars — seasonal Dashain livestock trade and year-round agro-tourism — are not separate ventures. They are two halves of one sustainable life cycle.

Not all mountain Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) are created equal. True Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) are bred, born and raised in the ancient rain-shadow desert of Lo Manthang, Upper Mustang, at altitudes above 3,800 metres.
At this elevation, cold Himalayan winds and pure glacial run-off create an untouched, zero-pollution environment. We do not trade or purchase third-party livestock — every animal we offer is raised directly on our own model farm and managed high-altitude herder pastures in Lo Manthang, individually tagged, health-tracked and traceable to our pastures.

Our Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) do not eat farm fodder, grain feed or commercial mixtures. They graze freely across vast alpine meadows rich in wild Himalayan flora — Jimbu (Himalayan wild onion), wild thyme, alpine clover, and rare medicinal mountain roots — and drink exclusively from crystal-clear glacial meltwater streams.
Zero chemical additives, zero artificial hormones, zero antibiotics and zero commercial feed. Nature matures our Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) at her own untamed rhythm.
Unmatched Nutritional Value
Because our Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) walk miles across rugged terrain while feeding on medicinal herbs, their meat offers an extraordinary nutritional profile that surpasses regular lowland Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) meat: high lean protein, low fat and cholesterol, and rich in iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and selenium.
The wild herbal diet also enriches the meat with natural anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, and the wild Jimbu and alpine herbs give it a clean, aromatic flavour that elevates festive curries and roasts.
Scientific Veterinary Care & Mandatory Vaccinations
At our CPRAT model farm in Lo Manthang, modern veterinary science safeguards every animal from birth to delivery. Every Chyangra (च्याङ्ग्रा) undergoes mandatory vaccination against PPR and Foot-and-Mouth Disease, regular deworming and continuous monitoring by trained livestock specialists.
For Dashain deliveries to urban centres we enforce humane, low-stress transport — hydration, nutrition and spacious conditions throughout. Every animal reaching our hub centres in Kathmandu and Pokhara carries official veterinary clearance before final delivery.

When you order directly from CPRAT, you support a sustainable farming model that enriches the mountain ecosystem and the herding families who tend it. We guide our herds through planned rotational grazing, letting alpine vegetation regenerate and preventing soil erosion.
Selling straight from our farm to your table bypasses predatory middlemen entirely — giving you transparent pricing and putting income for winter supplies, clothing and education fees directly into local herding households.

Every seller is checked before they can list, and every listing is reviewed before it goes live. There is no fee to list. We take a commission on what sells, arrange the transport, collect the money and pay the seller once the order is delivered.
